Board Member

G Subba Rao is Group Deputy Managing Director and CEO – Corporate Affairs in GMR Group. He is associated with GMR Group for over 26 years. He began his journey with Vysya Bank in 1993.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with all India Rank to his credit having vast experience of about 44 years with Public / Private Sector Banks and GMR Group. He was the Board Secretary of a Nationalized Bank before associating himself with GMR Group and worked with Andhra Bank for over 17 years.

He is a self-made man with high level of diligence and conviction. He played a very important role in winning the Delhi Airport Bid for the Group. He has been successful all through his life and presently he is on the Boards of over 10 Companies of the Group. He takes keen interest in developing the people and processes which are the basic foundation ingredients for the development of any Organization.

A Post graduate in Physics, Shri MR Reddy joined Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1967 and was allotted to Maharashtra cadre, where he worked in a number of districts / cities as Superintendent of Police / Deputy Commissioner of Police, handling Law & Order, Crime, Personnel Management and General Administration. After a highly successful tenure in Maharashtra, he went on deputation to Government of India and served in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in various capacities handling Intelligence, Industrial / VIP security and Counter Terrorism.

He went on deputation to Cabinet Secretariat to set up Special Protection Group (SPG) for ensuring the protection of the Prime Minister and the family members. He headed SPG as Director and successfully handled the visit of the Prime Minister to a number of foreign countries including Pakistan and visit to Kargil during the active war with Pakistan. On completion of tenure, he was posted in Germany in the Indian Embassy as Minister, handling International Terrorism. On return, he was posted as Secretary, Security, Government of India. He retired from IPS in 2004. He was awarded Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service (IPM) and President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) in recognition of his valuable services.

After retirement, he joined GMR Group, as Advisor, Security & Vigilance. He established RAXA as a Premier Security Services Company and headed it as the Managing Director. RAXA Academy was also set up by him. He had retired as Managing Director in 2011 and continues to be a member of RAXA Board.

H J Dora, Former Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh, is a Director on the Board of the company as well as other group companies. He served the Police department in various districts till the year 1984. Thereafter, for over 5 years, he served in the Police Intelligence. From early 1989 to late 1992, he headed the APSRTC as its Vice Chairman and Managing Director. He later served as Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad from April 93 to November 95 and as Director General & I G of Police, Andhra Pradesh, between 1996 to 2002. He also worked as Director General, CISF - New Delhi and as Vigilance Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission.

He is the recipient of awards such as the “Police Medal for Gallantry”, “Police Medal for Meritorious Service” and “President Police Medal for Distinguished Service”.

S I S Ahmed, an Indian Police Service officer of 1970 batch from West Bengal Cadre, has had a long and illustrious career as a police officer and he is widely respected by one and all, for his high degree of professionalism. While in Kolkata Police he took up a number of innovative community policing initiatives which received high public acclaim and are, in fact, even now being practiced. He also served in the Border Security Force (BSF) as Additional Director General, overseeing the Indo-Bangladesh Border Management. During this period, he successfully led anti-insurgency operations in the States of Tripura, Manipur, Assam and Meghalaya. From 2005 to 2007 he headed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as its Director General providing it a visionary leadership.

He has been singularly responsible for streamlining the overall functioning of CISF in the Aviation Sector. He was later hand-picked to head the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the largest paramilitary force in the country, as its Director General. He always led his Force, deployed in J&K, Maoist affected States and North East for anti-militancy and anti-insurgency operations, from the front. His efforts to bring the youth from some of these strife ridden areas into the mainstream were indeed noteworthy. Mr. Ahmed has been decorated with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
